Bug Description

Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon, Gnome 2.19.4

1. make sure there is an icon on the Desktop (a file under /home/USER/Desktop)
2. right-click on an item to show menu
3. choose "rename"
4. if BUG present, you can't rename. Although filename (without extension) is now selected

To show renaming is possible on that icon, the following does work:
2. right-click on an item to show menu
3. choose "properties"
4. rename the icon name there, close and check if it worked.

Note that I did not see the filename selection without extension on Ubuntu before,
so if that is a new feature.. it might be related to that.

The attachment shows a separate selection in the icon filename.
