2.6.20-16 kernel suddenly crashing with TPPS/2

Bug Description

Ubuntu kernel ran fine for a while but suddenly when booting up crashes in both regular and recovery mode on the most current kernel for Feisty (2.6.20-16) but the exact same thing happens on the previous kernel revision (2.6.20-15). It boots fine until it gets to the TPPS/2 driver and there is no activity from the system (no HD activity from my Thinkpad's indicator).

It loads the the Trackpoint driver/firmware on my T61 but suddenly the kernel ceases all activity. (Believe me I've let the system run for 10 minutes with no change.) This is the dmesg from the mounted partition of my ubuntu install where the kernel boot is failing. I'm running a liveCD for now trying to see if any configuration changes can be done on my install partition to fix this.

I guess I was thinking or something but upon furthur investigation this error was caused by modprobe unexpectedly failing due to the fact that the Intel 4965AGN iwlwifi modules I was installing right before this happened were compiled wrong and had some conflicts. Anyways I blacklisted the modules for now while I try to fix this core problem. My system can boot now so this is resolved.
