Bug Description

Using update-manager-core's do-release-upgrade from within KDE, the upgrade tool crashed.

Here's the output from the tool itself:

Traceback (most recent call last):

  File "/tmp/tmp9Ep-Mt/DistUpgradeViewKDE.py", line 227, in fork
    self.child_pid = os.fork()
OSError: [Errno 12] Cannot allocate memory

As the error suggests, all system memory (including swap) was used up by the process.

I'll attach /var/log/dist-upgrade/apt.log and /var/log/dist-upgrade/main.log separately.
