Confirmed in Gutsy Tribe 3, but no solution possible yet. NVidia has stated this will be fixed in the next release of their driver. http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=1302530&postcount=62

Problem reported in 100.14.09 and 100.14.11

There are some solutions, as using this method ( http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=3130398&postcount=176 ), but it requires to patch the drivers. The best solution is to wait for a new version of the drivers by nvidia, and hope it will fix the problem.

Same here. Hopefully, Nvidia will fix this soon so it can get into Gutsy before release date.

Apparently (as announced in the forums; http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=474144&page=33) the new 100.14.19 nvidia display driver is out and works without the patch.

Confirmed. Please upgrade the nvidia-glx-new package to 100.14.19 before Gutsy is released.

Thanks!

Latest updates to gutsy, as of September 24, ship with the 100.14.19 nvidia driver. Can someone confirm and if so, this bug should be closed.

Per a decision made by the Ubuntu Kernel Team, bugs will longer be assigned to the ubuntu-kernel-team in Launchpad as part of the bug triage process. The ubuntu-kernel-team is being unassigned from this bug report. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeamBugPolicies for more information. Thanks.
