Bug Description

I have just installed Crossover Office, a very usefull piece of software by Codeweavers. It functions allright, only in Xubuntu the menu items do not appear in the applications menu. There was codeweaver support asked for this issue, but they are not going to fix it. They instead supposed that Xfce should be changed to support XDG menu.

quote:
"Unfortunatly we get very low demand for XFCE support so we have not tried to add
support for its menu system. The best advice I can give is to talk with the XFCE
developers and see if there is any plans to adopt XDG menu support and use the
portland tools in future XFCE releases and then CrossOver menus should work out
of the box."

So is there any way to make Xfce support XDG menu?

Xfce 4.2 changelog says "Freedesktop specifications compliance for menu and icons themes" (http://www.xfce.org/release_notes/4.2_changelog.html).
And Crossoffice creates it's own category, not registred in the fd.o list. If I understand correctly, this is actually a bug in Crossoffice .desktop files.
