Bug Description

Binary package hint: postfix

Because of dependency problems with Postfix-MySQL. Neither are configured so when newaliases are run from the postinst script it doesnt know what hash type mysql is. Then it wont install postfix-mysql without postfix being configured. A workaround is to move /etc/postfix/main.cf somewhere else while doing the upgrade then move it back afterwards.

ProblemType: Package
Architecture: i386
Date: Sun Jul 22 14:17:30 2007
ErrorMessage: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Package: postfix 2.4.3-1ubuntu1
SourcePackage: postfix

Was this a new install or an upgrade?

If it was an install, how (what exact command) did you use to install it.

Sorry, this was on a dist-upgrade from Feisty to Gutsy using update-manager -c -d. I've had it happen previously also but can't remember the exact scenarios.

what do alias_maps and alias_database say (/usr/sbin/postconf alias_maps alias_database)?

alias_database shouldn't list any pgsql maps (they don't get built by us, just used).
