Bug Description

Binary package hint: usplash

I have been having problems with usplash - I don't get a see a bootsplash on start up at all, just a black screen, although the system does boot successfully.

I noticed this in the log files:

apport (pid 22276) Sun Jul 22 15:47:28 2007: executable: /sbin/usplash (command line "/sbin/usplash -c -x 1280 -y 1024")
apport (pid 22276) Sun Jul 22 15:47:28 2007: apport: report /var/crash/_sbin_usplash.0.crash already exists and unseen, doing nothing to avoid disk usage DoS

I will attach the crash report.

Incidentally, the framebuffer was all messed up until I added vga=773 to the kernel options. I don't know if that's related.

Because this bug did not have answers for more than one month, I set the status to invalid but if you can still reproduce this bug with the latest ubuntu release and that you can provide needed informations, feel free to re-open the bug and/or to comment here. Thanks for your contribution.
