Empty sidestage pops out when not wanted

I'm testing a converged version of the weather app from https://code.launchpad.net/~martin-borho/ubuntu-weather-app/conditional-weather and it has a link to the data provider website. It uses Qt.openUrlExternally(url) to open the url when clicked. When I do that, the browser opens fine, but I get an empty sidestage out too.
