Bug Description

When I try to boot ubuntu I get to the splash screen and it freezes at 2 and half bars. I then removed the splash screen to see the error it gets an error. Kernel Panic : syncing kernel-386 failed on scidi1((( ubuntu. or something of the sort )) . The linux-generic kernel wouldn't install at all from the text installer some other error and I've tried the other kernels too from fresh installs.. Sometimes I get that kernel panic error.. with the img 2.6.1 386 or whatever kernel It does something different. It seems like it says something about faults then it makes these ============================ then goes to a blank line and just stops. BUT no matter what kernel I use or what error message I get it always freezes at 2 and like 1 /2 or 1/4 bar on the splash screen. It's always is in the same spot.
