char "à" not recognized in gnome password field (edgy)

Bug Description

I've installed edgy filling the user password field with a string containing the "à" character.

Gnome doesn't recognize that character... but a command line box does (Eg: CTRL+ALT+F1)...

Dunno if it happens in a post-install-process password creation...

PS: My English is not so good... so I can make mistakes... sorry...

You mean when entering in gnome, or when asked for administration password ?
