Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

The display on the 7.10 Tribe 3 live CD is blurry. I have G965 graphics and a 1920x1200 monitor attached with DVI. The resolution is reported as 1920x1200 on both the computer and the monitor's on-screen controls, so that isn't the problem. Everything is blurry including lines, text, and images. It's as though the whole display was off-by-one in both dimensions and then resized to 1920x1200. I remember seeing this bug in older X.org releases, so this could be considered a regression.

I can't confirm the bug, but the GM965 (GMA X3100) has a similar problem on Feisty, and probably any distro with pre 2.1.0 Intel graphics drivers. The problem is that although the resolution is correct, a scaling filter is still being applied, causing everything to become slightly blurred. I haven't seen the problem with Tribe 3 on my laptop. Maybe the drivers on the live CD are older.

It's not blurry on the same computer running Feisty + xserver-xorg-video-intel 2.0.0 from http://www.burtonini.com/debian
