Bug Description
Binary package hint: gdm
I've just done an install of AMD-64 Alternate CD (to get RAID), using the nightly build (28th July) of gutsy. No graphical login appeared, so I had to
install and start sshd by blind typing. The problem is very simple:
1) /etc/init.d/gdm refers to:
DEFAULT_
DAEMON=
2)/etc/
/usr/bin/gdm
3)When /etc/init.d/gdm compares these two, they don't match, so no display manager runs. Instead, I get the error:
* Not starting GNOME Display Manager (gdm); it is not the default display manager.
4)The fix is very simple: correct /etc/X11/
Thanks i had this problem
