Pedro,
      finally you asked a question I can answer ;) Now after updates, 0.6.1-0ubuntu1 I haven't experienced any crashes just like I observed above. I haven't done any ntfs indexing for a while now, maybe that could also have been a part of the issue. It does make system slow :(
