Bug Description

I enabled the "Enable systray icon" in Setup/Misc. The icon appears just fine, it stays there when I close the main QJackCtl windows.

When I click the systray icon, it reacts by showing a sunken border of the icon, but no menu appears below it. When I close the main QJackCtl windows, a notification appears saying "Information - JACK Audio Connection Kit. The program will keep running in the system tray. To termina the program, please choose "Quit" in the context menu of the system tray icon." There is no context meny of that icon appearing.

Other systray programs (skype, quicksynergy) show their menus withou any problem.

This seems to be an upgrade problem. I also have this problem with 13.10, but on a fresh 14.04 install the qjackctl systray icon works as expected. I am using the same version of qjackcontrol as the buggy machine though it is 32bit not 64.

summary: - Systray icon shows no menu
+ Qjackctl systray icon shows no menu

This is a DE dependent problem. It works fine in xfce and kde. I have not tried gnome screen or unity, but as they both use the same libs (gtk3?) that may be why.

This bug is still present in Ubuntu 14.10 with the Unity DE. As the poster above stated, the issue does not appear in Xubuntu 14.10 or Kubuntu 14.10.

The QjackCtl system tray menu works in Ubuntu Gnome 14.10 once the extension "TopIcons" is installed, so it appears as though the issue only occurs under the Unity DE.

Same problem for me as well, also Xubuntu 14.04 LTS and xfce4 desktop. All latest updates installed.

Same problem since updating my Ubuntu-Studio installation (xfce, de-DE) to ver. 14.10. The Jack systray-menue is still not working in version 15.04 (3.19.0-16-lowlatency x86_64). Since months it just shows an white line at the bottom of jack's icon, when I click on it.
