Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" <http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html>. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. Thanks in advance.

I tried to send files to people on different networks, OS and clients by clicking on their nicknames on the left side bar then clicking on "Send files...", nothing happened. Right clicking the nickname in the chat the "Send file..." menu works, and the side bar starts working until I close the program. When I open it again it doesn't work anymore until I try to send a file right clicking the nickname.

I just tried to remove (purge) xchat and xchat-gnome, then I installed xchat-gnome again, and somehow the menu worked. After installing xchat, the sidebar menu didn't work anymore until I access it in another way. Uninstalling xchat doesn't change it, even if I delete ~.xchat2 folder. Now, after doing the same thing, it still doesn't work.
I'm downloading Gutsy, I'll be here again in about 2h.

Thank you

Just tested on Gutsy and it doesn't work either. It's the same thing, if I
right click the nickname before the message, it starts working.

I've been using Fedora 9 since last month on my desktop, and it still
doesn't work. Anyway, I've bought a new laptop and I use Hardy on it, and it
doesn't work either, so it's not a hardware problem.

Ah, did you mean sending it to Gnome Bugzilla? If you did, I've sent:

Hello, guys.

I have just tested this issue on the latest Intrepid Ibex. That menu still
does not work unless I activate it somewhere else.
This time, I'm testing on VMware Player, while I had been testing in two
desktops and two laptops.
