Bug Description
Binary package hint: libarts1-akode
trying to apply the available updates on my 7.10 beta install I'm getting:
(Reading database ... dpkg: error processing /var/cache/
files list file for package `libarts1-akode' is missing final newline
So I've tried to re-install the affected package and get the same error. It is a show stopper, since the package is already installed and I'm getting this while trying to upgrade/install the other packages that want to be installed. Using the adept updater just fails with other issues which is why I'm trying things at the command line for now.

Arts was removed from KDE 4 so I am closing this report as won't fix
