Bug Description

People who want to use the (closed source) Flash plugin need a special 'libflashsupport' extension library to Flash if they want support for PulseAudio or ESD. This library is not available in Ubuntu yet.

See: http://pulseaudio.revolutionlinux.com/PulseAudio

Note: this library is open source, but as it needs the closed source Flash to be useful, it will probably have to go into 'multiverse'...

Lennart Poettering, PulseAudio's upstream author, has "adopted" libflashsupport now, the address of his git repo can be found here:

Note that the new libflashsupport version from the git repo requires libpulse 0.9.7, while gutsy only has 0.9.6. :(

I'd sure like to see a x86_64 version of libflashsupport as I've been unable to get audio with the 64-bit version of flash-nonfree for firefox or swiftweasel with nspluginwrapper. I was hoping to get it to work with PulseAudio.

Sabaki, you could also try swfdec0.5 and swfdec-mozilla
0.5.2 is in the official repositories
0.5.3 is in my PPA : https://launchpad.net/~leroutier/+archive (just replace hardy by gutsy)
0.5.4 would have basic PulseAudio support, coded by Eric Anholt (from fd.o fame)

Changed in flashplugin-nonfree:

Hasn't this bug been fixed with the recent upload of libflashsupport?
