Bug Description

I have an PowerPack MP4 player MF-MS78 with an USB 2.0 interface. It seems to work nicely in Windows... however it crashes in Linux.

When I plug it in, it is recognized and it mounts perfectly. Nautilus is open and I can browse the folders. But when I try to copy files to or from the MP4, it unmount automatically.

It is using the USB 2.0 driver (EHCI). Then when I remove this driver to force the use of OHCI or UHCI (USB 1.0) the MP4 works, but extremely slow! It's slow not only because it is using USB 1.0 drivers, but there are several errors during the copy ("reset full speed USB device" in dmesg).

This bug hapens in Ubuntu Edgy Eft, Ubuntu Feist Fawn and Debian Sarge at least. I'd tried in AMD64, AMD32 and Intel processors.

But it works perfectly in Dapper Drake. No errors at all.

To me it seems that some experimental or new code in the Kernel is causing this bug. But I'm not finding it!

Does any one else have this same problem? Any suggestions? Solutions maybe?? :)
