- Drop file extension when naming a VM by its source media filename.
- Ensure that newly created boxes appear first in the collection view.
- Remove now redundant style & associated data.

Since this is a major version upgrade, this would need FFe to get into 14.04, see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FreezeExceptionProcess#FeatureFreeze_Exceptions on how to set this bug up like that.

Note that also Final Freeze begins after today. Is there instead some specific bug that would need fixing in the 3.8 series?

No, I don't think it's a good idea to do this the day before final freeze and one week before release.

I might be open to change my mind if one of the Ubuntu GNOME team argues for this change though.

Alternatively (and preferably), you could get this into 'U' and go for an official backport.
