Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.22

applesmc is not loaded by default on macbook pro 15" Core 2 Duo
when loaded by hand, keyboard lightning is broken (it's turend on everytime, thus cosuming power)

less /sys/devices/platform/applesmc.768/leds\:smc\:kbd_backlight/brightness puts out 0
but backlight is on

Hi ruebezahl, this is a duplicate of bug #128787. If you have any further information, please add it to that report. Regarding the keyboard lighting, that is a separate bug from the module not loading. Please open a new report for this issue. Thanks!

Beginning with the Hardy Heron 8.04 development cycle, all open Ubuntu kernel bugs need to be reported against the "linux" kernel package. We are automatically migrating this bug to the new "linux" package. However, development has already began for the upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release.
