Bug Description

During the usage of gThumb (v2.10.2) on my Ubuntu 7.04 I encountered the following bug.

I have been renaming some of my photos on my system.
At first everything work perfectly well.
The last command that worked as expected was "%f1%e".
The next time I started gThumb I wasn't able to rename more than one photo at a time.
I tried with any type of grafics and in many different folders but it's always the same.
Now there is "?%e" in my template textfield and I'm not able to delete this string.
And my renamed files all looks like this: ??????????????????
Here is a screenshot: http://roze84.dyndns.org/rename.png

Renaming of one Picture still works.

Confirmed. Reported upstream at http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=464348.

As a temporary work-around, you can close gthumb and reset the template using gconf-editor to change the /apps/gthumb/dialogs/rename-series/template key.

The string of ?????????????????????? is generated as soon as % is typed.

I am not able to follow the temporary workaround. No matter how I edit the template I always get the ? as part of the name and the ???????????????? are appended. I don't seem to be able to remove the template completely either. Yes, I'm sudo'ing. Any advice gratefully accepted.
