"*" is misaligned in Dejavu Sans Mono

Bug Description

When string "*" set in Dejavu Sans Mono, displays the * not centred between the "". This looks quite odd.

The * Should be centred between the "".

Is this still an issue in Gutsy (or Hardy)? If so, could you attach screenshots showing what it does look like, and what it should look like? Also, it sounds like this may be an upstream issue, so could you file a bug against them and attach it here? Bugs about dejavu can be reported via their mailing list http://sourceforge.net/projects/dejavu.
