Bug Description

fresh install of 14.04 on x120e, also reproducing on the live-usb ISO.

resume from suspend fails every time. I have to long-press the power button and then turning it back on doesn't post to BIOS. To recover, I have to pull the battery and power back on.

This is regression for me from 13.10, but in addition to re-install I also replaced disk with an SSD.

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.15 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

I just booted into saucy 3.11 and verified i have the issue.
linux-image-3.11.0-19-generic

I know that this did not exist before upgrade from saucy, so that would seem to imply that kernel is not [entirely] at fault.
Given the fact that the hang requires me to pullt he battery and screen is left black, i suspect this is Xorg related.

Scott - so why do you care about having the latest BIOS version ? Go with the one that works and then _never_ change.
