Bug Description

Binary package hint: liferea

I think it would be a good idea to use Andreas Nilsson's presence feed icon for generic feeds that do not have a specific favicon. It follows the Tango guidelines closely and looks just great. It is also released under the GPL, as can be seen here: http://svn.gnome.org/viewcvs/epiphany-extensions/trunk/data/icons/hicolor_status_32x32_feed-presence.png?limit_changes=100&view=log

In Ubuntu the icon can be found in /usr/share/epiphany-browser/icons/hicolor/16x16/status.

The current icon is from http://feedicons.com/ which looks nice too, and looks pretty similar.

I don't feel like changing it downstream. I've reported it upstream, and they won't change it...

Hi Emilio, could you link the upstream bug here? Thanks.

Is the goal here to improve the look of liferea, or to improve the quasi freedom? Because I think the use of the icon here is acceptably free, and the screenshot appears to have an inappropriate background on the icon.

The goal is to improve the look and more specifically, improve integration by using the same icons across different apps. Andreas' icon follows the Tango guidelines, which are being increasingly used throughout the desktop, so I think it would be the logical icon to use.

The reference to the GPL was only to state that the icon can be freely used.

Oh, that inappropriate background you mention must be because of the way I did the mockup. There is no such thing in the actual icon.
