Hi,

this bug happens when qemulator can't find any of the configured images. E.G., when images have been deleted from hard-disk outside qemulator. This happened to me when I restored home, except the directory where qemu images where stored.

BTW, perhaps should it just ask the user if he/she wants to remove the configuration associated with the missing image…

I certainly did not remove any images. Moreover. I hit to this bug immediatelly after installation of qemulator. And, between installation and execution of program I didn't change files at all.

I also submitted one of the 97 duplicates of this bug.

I installed the package, I tried to start it after installation, and it crashed. It never even made an image.

As far as I'm concerned, it should never have even been released in that state.

I've moved on now, and use the command line to start qemu and kvm. I'd suggest the other 97 of you do the same

Thanks,
I suspsect a problem with python 2.6, qemulator was developed for python 2.4 and the upstream author has declared the compatiibility only with the 2.4 version. There are many upstream bug archived with the compatibility issue, waiting for the new version of qemulator...

I've done an experimental version that tries to correct some of these compatibility problems.

Can you try what you get with this package? you can find it on mentors:

http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/q/qemulator

another try possibile is to change the default python interpreter to 2.5 to see the differences.

Cheers,
Francesco

Hello,
this trouble was many month ago. Today i am debian user, and I can not
reproduce the error.

I have a similar problem, trying to load ReactOS in QEMU- running from the command line, I get an error that qemu cannot open /dev/kqemu, which doesn't exist. This is apparently the acceleration layer, and it appears that the Ubuntu build puts this somewhere other than where QEMU would like to find it. I have run in to a similar problem with Ubuntu mounting the usb file system on what appears to be a non-standard mount point (easy enough to fix when you know what the problem is). I have tried this in both Jaunty and Karmic, with the same results...

Hello,

I had long since given up on working with qemulator, but a quick
install and run seems to indicate that the original immediate crash
problem has been resolved.
