Bug Description

Unity 8 only shows applications that have X-Ubuntu-Touch=true in their .desktop files. Now we are adding support for GTK+ this means all GTK+ applications would need to be patched to show (impractical).

Was this just a temporary mechanism added to whitelist the Ubuntu touch apps? What is the long-term thinking as to which apps we show?

Yeah, this was a quick way to only show whitelisted .desktop apps that explicitly mentioned support for Ubuntu Touch.

Not sure there is a long-term plan, but we definitely need to think of something that will denote support (or the lack of) for touch, desktop, 10" experiences, but probably blacklisting (or defaulting to ALL) is a better approach.
