Bug Description

I upgraded a good feisty raid-1 system using gutsy tribe 4 cd. The system failed to boot since the device md1 did not exist and no raid seems to be in the boot initrd.

Therefore, I attempted a fresh install in vmware with two SCSI disks
a. 7.04 sees and can partition both disks
b. *BUG* 7.10 tribe 4 alternate installer sees only one disk, /dev/sda. /dev/sdb has no device.
-7.04 installer booted in same vm sees two disks

install or upgrade of a RAID system appears broken.

Same problem with gutsy-desktop-i386.iso daily build from 2007-08-23 12:04.

The problem appears on VMware Workstation 6 today with gutsy-desktop-i386.iso daily build from 2007-09-04 07:40, but on Innotek VirtualBox 1.5.0 the installer finds the two disks (sda and sdb). Perhaps a problem of VMware?

I tried to create the partitions on both disk with gparted-live-cd before installing Ubuntu. But on gutsy-desktop-i386.iso daily build from 2007-09-07 08:06 there is still no second disk.

Now (I tested gutsy-desktop-i386.iso daily build from 2007-10-08 08:11) it goes! The installer sees the two harddisks and it is possible to create the essential partitions.
