Bug Description

Binary package hint: qgis

The qgis packege seem broken. It requires Qt >= 4.3.0, but have Qt 4.3.1

Here is the output of apt-get install qgis:

Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
qgis: Depends: libqgis1 but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libqt4-core (>= 4.3.0) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libqt4-gui (>= 4.3.0) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libqt4-qt3support (>= 4.3.0) but it is not going to be installed
E: Broken packages

Running "sudo apt-get -s install qgis" here doesn't show any problem.

Can you please check why the qt4 libs can't be installed?
Try "sudo apt-get install libqt4-core" (or libqt4-gui or libqt4-qt3support).
You might need to run this also on the output from this command to find the end and the real problem.

Please copy the real error (if you find it) or the output where you got stuck.

What happened is I had the kdecopy version of the qt libraries.
This is the output of the apt-get install libqt4-core command:

Fetched 1835kB in 2s (675kB/s)
(Reading database ... 190022 files and directories currently installed.)
Removing qt4-qtconfig-kdecopy ...
Removing qt4-dev-tools-kdecopy ...
Removing qt4-designer-kdecopy ...
Removing libqt4-debug-dev-kdecopy ...
Removing libqt4-dev-kdecopy ...
Removing libqt4-qt3support-kdecopy ...
Removing libqt4-sql-kdecopy ...
Removing libqt4-gui-kdecopy ...
Removing libqt4-core-kdecopy ...

But shoudn't the kdecopy version be an acceptable option anyway?

Closing as invalid. -kdecopy should die.

the *-kdecopy packages are old packages that were installed with the first kde4 packages that were created and have since then been replaced with the libqt4* packages that are current.

All right. But shouln't then the qt4 packages upgrade the kdecopy versions then?
