Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" <http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html>. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems. <http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures> Thanks!

Hello,
I am using Ubuntu Gutsy tribe 5, up-to-date. When I start my gnome session, I have no problems. But when I logout, and try to start again a gnome session from the GDM, the background screen of the GDM will be displayed for about 15 seconds, and then back to the gdm login screen.
I thought this had something to do with xserver-xgl, but after removal I have the same behavior.
I have KDE also, but the problem doesnt apply when using kde session.

I have the same problem Ignacio Toledo. I hope I can provide supporting description on GDM login problem of Ignacio Toledo.

- My GDM (version 2.20.0-0ubuntu2).

In the normal behavior, when logging-in on GDM > GNOME session after I entered my username and password it will load the desktop.

But after upgrading to GDM 2.20, when logging-in on GDM > GNOME session after I entered my username and password, after few seconds instead of loading the desktop it reloads GDM login.

I've tried to use GDM > GNOME Failsafe session and everything worked well like the normal behavior.

I guess the problem is on starting GNOME desktop with desktop compiz-fusion because I can log on GNOME desktop on failsafe mode where compiz-fusion is disabled.

Thanks for your comments. This does not appear to be a bug report as such. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise your question in the support tracker. http://launchpad.net/support

Hello,
I know format of the comments does not conform to the requirements of a bug
report. The problem to report it in such format has been that I never get
any messages of error or bug, so as layman in Ubuntu I don't know how to
report this formally. But its look like a bug to me.
What information should I post to make it a bug report?
Thanks and good luck
Ignacio

The bug reports should have enough details to work on the issue, if you don't know how to get this details you can ask on the support tracker some guidance and then open a detailled bug
