Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

... [FEISTY] firefox crashed

... Folder in Bookmark Toolbar makes ff crash

I have a folder in the Bookmark Toolbar Folder that I want to open (click) but everytime I open it it crashes Firefox. I wouldn't say this is the same as #25030 beacuse I only have to click once to make it crash.

When I started with firefox -g and did the same thing the gdb froze and caused everything else to freeze also. CPU was somewhere between 10-20% and the only thing I could do was to move the mouse pointer. When I then killed gdb from another terminal I had this message in the gdb terminal:

Starting program: /usr/lib/firefox/firefox-bin -a firefox

Thank you jhellen for submitting this report.

Could you please try to obtain a backtrace by following the instructions
on [1], or upload the crash report that probably was generated during
the crash and that should be located at /var/crash/ to [2].

Please indicate which extensions/plugins do you have enabled; and if
this crash is reproducible describe the steps that lead to it (it is
very important for us to have a test case for each crash).

This will greatly aid us in tracking down your problem.

Thanks in advance.

H. Montoliu

Please see if the crash goes away if you run firefox in safe-mode
(which effectively means: all extensions disabled) ...

Todo so, please run firefox from terminal like:

firefox -safe-mode

Thanks,

We have not received any duplicates for some time. Thus, this crash was likely due to some unique plugin extension combination or has been fixed in the meantime. Please, reopen it at any time if you have more related info.

Thanks for your contribution. Don't hesitate to submit new crashes,
