Bug Description

I'm trying to boot the gutsy amd64 tribe5 cd on a machine with an E6600 core 2 duo and a Gigabyte 965P-DS3 motherboard. It oopses at startup as shown in the attachments. Feisty i386 is working ok on this machine.

before you ask, i can't get a uname -a since it doesn't come sufficiently far up. it's the tribe5 kernel.

Hi Martin,

Did this ever get resolved with the final Gutsy release? If not, does the issue still exist with the latest Hardy Alpha release? Thanks.

Just moving this bug forward to be against the actively developed kernel (ie the 'linux' package). Martin, let us know if this was still an issue with Hardy? If so, have you been able to test Intrepid? Thanks.

Hi,

This was still an issue with Hardy. I haven't tested with Intrepid recently.

Per a decision made by the Ubuntu Kernel Team, bugs will longer be assigned to the ubuntu-kernel-team in Launchpad as part of the bug triage process. The ubuntu-kernel-team is being unassigned from this bug report. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeamBugPolicies for more information. Thanks.

Hi Martin,
Have you had the opportunity to test this on Jaunty to verify if it is still an issue? Please let us know the results of your test. Thanks.
