Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-amd

After installing latest version (20070711), I finally can go up to 1680x1050 on my Geode LX800. However:
- the driver defaults to AIXGL and Composite, which keeps CPU usage to 100% almost all the time: can be fixed by disabling those
- the mouse cursor is laggy everytime the CPU load goes high, like when opening apps or web pages. I tried to reduce memory usage by going to 16bpp, but it didn't fix it. The same raising priority of Xorg

Is this bug still valid as of 2.7.7.0-1 anymore?

Yes the cursor is still laggy, I'm currently using the git latest version.

Enabling XGL and Composite is not an issue anymore, but desktop effects are not starting.

Note that Launchpad is for reporting bugs against Ubuntu packages.

Since you are using building your own binaries from the git tree, please instead report the bug at the appropriate location, to the freedesktop.org Bugzilla.
