Bug Description

Vendor: Creative Labs
Device: SB Live! EMU10k1
Bus type: PCI

Ok, here's my problem. One day i wake up, I open the PC and the sound works great. When I reboot (the same very morning) it might work or might not work. Most times it doesn't work. But, i say but, it doesn't always work when I open the PC for the first time so it's not a reboot problem, as I think.
I heard a lot of people complaining about their sound cards so, it's happening to me too.

Thanks in advance.

I'm having the same problem. But usually my sound doesn't work after I reboot to Windows and then back to Ubuntu.
My sound card is from NVidia, though.

R u still using ubuntu? Cause a lot of people told me to install
Ubuntu 6.06 LTS instead of Ubuntu 7.10 (known as feisty). Do you still
have this kind of problem?

I've just upgraded to Ubuntu 7.10 (gutsy) hoping it would fix the problem,
but it didnt. I'm still having the same problem. If I turn on my laptop and
boot to Ubuntu my sound works, but after I restart to Windows or if I boot
to Windows and restart to Ubuntu the sound doesnt work at all, although
everything seems to be installed and recognized.
Do you have any idea what the problem could be?

Well, im still having this problem too - and as im trying to fix it,
im always making it worse. So, i would suggest you leave it as it is
and try to buy a motherboard with an onboard soundcard. I know it
sounds weird - but i dont have any other solution. bythe way, this is
what I did, and if you happen to find any other solution to this
(dman) :) problem, i would be very pleased if you could inform me.

Thanks for the reference and i hope we find a way :)
