Bug Description

Binary package hint: audacious

In terms of system-wise usability, a small plugin that supports the media-keys set in the gnome-keybinding app (Keyboard Shortcuts) would be an excellent addition to the package set.

Audacious isn't a GNOME app and such integration would send the wrong message. However, there's a few third-party plugins, audacious-itouch, audacious-itouch-control, audacious global hotkey plugin, that you might consider packaging for Ubuntu, which would provide a similar facility.

Oh. I'm apparently an idiot. There is actually a plugin being written by a third party contributor to listen to the DBus signals sent by gnome-keybinding (I didn't realize this is what you were looking for at first). I'll try to notify debian's packager about it in a week or two if I get an opportunity to do so, so that it can easily make it's way into gutsy.

William,

Thanks for looking into it; it makes the integration between it and GNOME
more solid, and would be an excellent addition to Gutsy.

The gnome-keybinding listener plugin has been merged into upstream Audacious 1.4, which should hopefully be included in Gutsy.
