brightness does not stay bright/dim

Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

Brightness does not stay at selected brightness level. Level always reverts to what is set in gnome power manager after x minutes.

IE if i dim my screen brightness to lowest possible using buttons and in gnome power manager it is set to 100% on batteries it will resume 100% after unspecified amount of time. (dim when idle is unchecked)

The same happens when the settings are reversed. (still leaving the dim when idle unchecked)
