Bug Description
My first contact with Ubuntu was today, 8/29/07. I downloaded version 7.04 from the site of MIT media lab, and created a CD. When inserting this into my desktop with Win 98 (NOT 2nd edition) I received the error message "K-MELEON.EXE is linked to the missing export MFC42.DLL.6860".
I then took this DLL file from the \windows\system32 folder of my other system, running Win XP, renamed the existing file in folder \windows\system of the Win 98 system, and copied the XP DLL into the Win 98 machine. Having done this, the error message did not reoccur, and the Ubuntu menu screen displayed.
Will I now have a problem with my Win 98 machine?

You know you have to boot from that live CD in your drive to start Ubuntu? You can't just run Ubuntu under win98..
I'm closing this bug.
