Popup during full-screen game causes crash

Bug Description

Under compiz, on gutsy/amd64, I got a complete X hang, when playing full screen neverball, and a pidgin-libnotify popup popped up.

ii compiz 1:0.5.2+git20070829-0ubuntu1 OpenGL window and compositing manager
ii libnotify1 0.4.4-3 sends desktop notifications to a notification daemon
ii neverball 1.4.0-2ubuntu3 3D arcade games: neverball & neverputt
ii xorg 1:7.2-5ubuntu7 X.Org X Window System

Hardware: Intel MacBook 2007

I am re-opening this bug because I am able to reproduce this problem. While playing a full screen game (Nexuiz) a libnotify balloon popped up from Pidgin. As soon as it disappeared the game froze and everything became unresponsive. I was finally able to get to a tty and kill Nexuiz after a while. It's not connected to Compiz because I was able to reproduce it with and without Compiz running. I'm running Hardy.
