Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

1. Import a folder of MP3s.
2. Double click one to play it, in rhythmbox.

I get distortion and clipping under rhythmbox on any high sounds. I don't remember this happening in Feisty. This does not happen in totem, xmms, or audacious under Gutsy.

Thank you for your bug. Do you use the crossfading option? Does it happen with totem?

I do not have the "crossfading backend" enabled in Rhythmbox.

I should also mention that flac files play fine in Rhythmbox.

Is it possible Totem is using a different gstreamer plugin than Rhythmbox?

does enabling the crossfading makes any difference?

Using crossfading does eliminate the problem, actually.
