Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-mga

With kaffeine i got a blue screen at the place of the video ...

To make it work, I have to change the colors deff from 24 to 16 bits, can you make the the colors deff to 16 bits by default for the mga driver (like 3dfx driver)

Confirmed on Hardy, as well as the workaround to set colour depth to 16 bit.

My card is Matrox G450 dualhead AGP with 16 MB.

IIRC, this worked for me in Dapper still with 24 bit colour, hence I marked this as a regression.

Hi fabien-beosfrance,

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? (ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/)

If it remains an issue, could you also attach a new /var/log/Xorg.0.log?
Thanks in advance.
