nm-applet crashes on "connect to other wireless network"

Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager-gnome

I'm using a Dell Wireless 1390 card with ndiswrapper, but I have the same problem when using bcm43xx, so it should be a network-manager issue. Every time I click "Connect to Other Wireless Network" to enter settings for a network I need to connect to, nm-applet crashes with the message "Segmentation fault (core dumped)". Reinstalling the package and clearing the config files had no effect.

I see exactly the same behaviour on Gutsy x86-64 (0.6.5-0ubuntu10 network-manager-applet package);
here is a backtrace:

and I get a kernel log of:

[17944.979590] nm-applet[6868]: segfault at ffffffffac022dc0 rip 00002b027016df18 rsp 00007fff3cc59540 error 4
(all address varying on each run)

It happens with my kill switch on or off; the wireless is:
05:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection (rev 02)

in a Tosh Equium A100 Pro; but it doesn't feel device driver to me.

I can confirm this bug; nm-applet segfaults with an identical backtrace to Dave Gilbert's. I am using Gutsy AMD64 but with a bcm43xx wireless card.

Same bug here on gutsy amd64 with iwl4965. seems to be amd64-specific, or can anyone confirm this on i386? I will test it.

Also happens with me, on amd64. Trying to connect to a network will often just crash the applet. A non-broadcasting, WPA2-secured network, if that matters. Only way I've found to fix it is with a total reboot.

dmesg shows me:

Sorry for the length. Thanks for any help, this is supremely frustrating to have to reboot just because my network fails.
