Bug Description

Running up to date gutsy on a Dell Dimension 3000. When I click system-quit-restart, the machine does not reboot. It just takes me to the Ubuntu login sceen. Then if i hit options and shutdown, it takes me to the Gnome login screen.

The machine will not restart or shutdown. I have to kill the machine with the power button.

It is still having problems shutting down. I am up to date on updates.
Been updating since tribe 5 was first released.

This is still happening. I have been updating since Tribe 4 I think and there is still no fix for this. Perhaps I need to re-install to check if this has been fixed?

I just installed daily updates, and upon selecting reboot, it just restarts gnome and sends me to the login screen. When selecting restart again from the options tab, it sends me to the default gnome loging screen. Have to hard kill the machne to restart.

This is a pretty serious bug in my opinion. Having to hard kill the machine while running is dangerous to the filesystem.

Tested on Oct 9 using Gutsy "daily-live" iso from Oct 9.
Using Intel MBoard DG965SS.

After selecting restart either from the "menu" or command line it "hangs" on a "black" screen.
Have to reboot manually.

Note: Same hardware on Feisty works correctly.
