Bug Description

Hi,

I'm using Gutsy daily live CD on a Dell Inspiron 6400 with the following audio hw: HDA Intel on SigmaTel STAC9200 chipset.

When running System -> Preferences -> Sound or the gnome-sound-properties command, after hitting "Test" on "Sound Capture" with ALSA selected as an option the program freezes for a moment and then shows an error dialogue reading: "Failed to construct test pipeline for 'gconfaudiosrc ! audioconvert ! audioresample ! gconfaudiosink profile=chat'"

Not a lot of information in the command line either:

uga@uga-laptop:~$ gnome-sound-properties
/bin/sh: /usr/bin/esd: not found
Killed

How do I enable more debug output? I can then send you more info.

Thanks

See bug 131711. I am still having the same problem with Gutsy Tribe 5

Yep, it's the same error message as explained in bug 131711, but my sound works and testing all other functions works as well. I only get this error message when testing "Sound Capture".
