It happens by trying to read an email in every folder.

Thanks for taking time to make ubuntu better.

I can see that you have lightning 0.5 extension installed, can you confirm if this bug still happens if you uninstall this extension? We have see this problem with the xpi from addons.mozilla.org, but not the lightning-extension from ubuntu repositories.

 Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Have you tried to uninstall the lightning extension? Thanks in advance.

Sorry, for the failure to reply, I am now using 8.04 Ubuntu and have no
problems with Thunderbird with or without lighning extension.
