App blocking when coming back from the single note view

Bug Description
One thing that seems to block the UI in particular is opening a note and going back to the list of notes.
IIRC we do a refresh when we come back from a single note view to the list of notes, but it seems we're then pulling more notes than the ones that are in view.
I.e. I often am in a state where all the images I've got in view have been downloaded. Then the app is responsive. Then I tap on a note and load it, all good. Then I tap on the "Back" icon and the app freezes for a while - it seems it's downloading more stuff
