evolution does not stop to signal 'new mail has arrived"

Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

even if the corresponding tick is removed and no notification for new mail is required,
a yellow banner appears. it must be possible to stop this completely and have no interruption through notifiations.

This is happening on my computer. Evolution says "Do not notify me when new mail arrives" (that option is checked), and I'm staring at a blinking icon that says "You have received 6 new messages in INBOX."
