Just say that is a matter of consistency between desktop apps, eog does it, openoffice.org, abiword, etc. sadly not all the developers care about it.

Pedro, not to start a flame war but what justification do you have saying developers do not care about consistency? All projects contain issues of differing priorities. If you have a particular consistency issue please open bugs against all the products that are inconsistent describing a) the point that is inconsistent b) why these applications should be consistent and c) what apps do implement the consistent behaviour.
