tracker doesn't follow symlinks

Bug Description

I have several drives in my machine. From each drive, I've symlinked a few folders into my home folder. There seems to be no way to tell trackerd to automatically follow these without manually specifying the files on the drives. This is workable but unfortunate, since from time to time I move the files between drives, and I'm used to other programs being fine with it as long as the symlink is updated.

This is not a bug, it's a feature!

Seriously, this is by design. If tracker would follow symlinks, it could end up in a loop.

there is no way to have tracker follow symlink if they are specifically among the recursively indexed locations? most of my home is built on symlinks - with some apps they are so insanely useful, and then some apps just ignore them leaving people who take advantage of them in the cold.
on one hand it wouldn't matter to just index the actual location but with something like zeitgeist - won't it see the files opened with nautilus through symlinks and files opened with tracker search as different files?
