Bug Description

Binary package hint: inkscape

I've got a simple "plain SVG" file, which inside Inkscape shows as having all the strokes the weight of 3.138 px, but editing it with any text editor shows the stroke weights to be 3.5 px.

The SVG file can be downloaded from http://dev.laptop.org/attachment/ticket/3482/activity-rgbpaint.svg (this is actually a website, so don't just wget this address :) )

Looks like this issue still exists in 0.46.

The SVG file is 52x52, shrunk from 58x56 by means of a viewBox. The shrinking reduces the width of vertical strokes to 3.5*52/58 = 3.138, and the width of horizontal strokes to 3.5*52/56 = 3.25.

So Inkscape is right not to show the stroke width as 3.5, although I don't know why it uses 3.138 rather than 3.25. (Doesn't it make more sense to use the geometric mean of 3.138 and 3.25?)

My previous comment was incorrect - I somehow forgot that the aspect ratio should be preserved. So 3.138 is correct, and this is not a bug.
