Bug Description

Binary package hint: dpkg

I think this is more a dpkg bug than aptitude or apt, because it seems that both fail on me in the same way. Any time I attempt install a package, It downloads, starts to install, and crashes with a seg fault. I then need to do a 'dpkg --configure -a' before I can try again. I am able to use apt to download the .deb (before it crashes), do a dpkg --configure, and then install using 'dpkg -i' it seems.

I just upgraded to Gutsy (I guess it's in Tribe 5 right now) from feisty, which was recently an edgy install.

sorry, I manually upgraded apt, which seems to have fixed everything. It was rather difficult to do that, however, seeing as apt was broken.
