Bug Description

On Gutsy Gibbon with a GTK theme installed and Desktop effects enabled through "Appearance", and all sorts of effects customized though compiz-fusion, the computer runs fine and all effects run smoothly.

BUT, when i turn off dektop effects through appearance, to play a game(whcich will otherwise cause my X to crash), and get done playing the game, close it, then try to enable desktop effects again thought the "Appearance" app, all my window borders go away, and i cannot use any of the desktop effects. Turning desktop effects back off doesnt help, screen just flickers, then the same thing as before.

Im on a hp dv9000z entertainment laptop, nvidia Go 7600 256mb card(not integrated). This is a pretty powerfull laptop, so yes i know it can handle the effects. As well as doom3 at full settings.

I've tried fidling with the fusion-icon and trying to change the window decorator and then refreshing but nothing.

Thanks for your report. Do you still experience this problem with Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex?
